BAWSI Holiday Reflections
The women athletes in the Bay Area rock! Since BAWSI's inception in 2005, more than 600 women athletes from the universities, community colleges, and high schools have stepped up to make a difference in the lives of those who face daunting challenges each day of their lives. These great athletes with huge hearts have served as positive role models for literally thousands of girls, moms and kids in wheelchairs who are being empowered to live an active lifestyle and look at their futures with hope. This hasn't happened without hundreds of you who have chosen to volunteer or give financial or moral support. We are honored by your belief in us and in our work. 2010 is filled with possibilities and we look forward to discovering each and every one of them. YOU are a gift to us and we are forever grateful.

Four ways you can bring holiday cheer to BAWSI

When you sweat, you can raise funds for BAWSI!
Karno Kids, the personal charity of ultra marathoner Dean Karnazes, will donate up to $5,000 to BAWSI based on your sweat! You're not asked to donate money just to log your workouts and activities through Plus3Network. Make your training, fitness program or physical activity count for BAWSI! Go to http://www.plus3network.com/signup/bawsi-kk to sign up and you'll sweat your way to fitness while helping BAWSI Girls, Salud por Vida moms, and BAWSI Rollers. It's fun and it's free! Go ahead, make it count!

Cause Ornaments
For a $25 donation, you can purchase an ornament and give the "Gift of a Positive Role Model" to a friend or family member. The proceeds will be shared by BAWSI and FLY (Fresh Lifelines for Youth). The ornaments make great stocking stuffers and help raise awareness for our cause. Purchase online at http://www.sv2.org/celebrate/ or drop by Stanford Shopping Center (between TOUS and MAX & CO) weekdays between 10am and 6pm or weekends from noon to 5pm. As a special holiday treat, Brandi Chastain will be at the booth on Saturday, December 12 from 1-2pm. This opportunity comes to BAWSI from SV2, a grant-maker to BAWSI from the past that keeps on giving!

End-of-year Online Gift
Simply make your gift directly to BAWSI. You may designate your gift to benefit a specific program if you'd like or make it in honor of or in memory of someone special in your life.

Birdies campaign
BAWSI's co-founder Brandi Chastain has once again received an invitation to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach National Golf Tournament! And once again, BAWSI has been designated as an official "Birdies for Charity" participant in the tournament. Gifts or pledges can be made online through February. Every gift will be matched by an additional 10% by the Monterey Peninsula Foundation.
