BAWSI unveils new logo
SAN JOSE, Calif. (Oct. 14, 2005) - Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful
than a locomotive, able to leap the Bay in a single bound. Look! In the
boardroom, in the kitchen, on the playing field - it's an executive, it's a mother,
it's an athlete, it's a BAWSI woman!
In designer Terry Smith's new logo for the BAY AREA WOMEN'S SPORTS INITIATIVE,
the BAWSI woman takes a powerful stride that carries her from San Francisco to
San Jose, or anywhere else she might wish to go in the Bay Area sports world.
The design uses purple and orange, which were the colors of the San Jose
CyberRays women's professional soccer team, BAWSI's ancestor organization.
If you're a woman who values sport's role in society and women's role in sports,
you're a BAWSI woman.
BAWSI, co-founded by former CyberRays general manager Marlene Bjornsrud
and team captain Brandi Chastain, is a non-profit public benefit corporation
utilizes the talent and experience of Bay Area women athletes in improving the
lives of children and women. Visit our website at www.bawsi.org.
