With former San Francisco 49er Brent Jones as spokesperson, BAWSI Dads and Daughters creates the kind of shared family sports experiences between dads and daughters that sons have long enjoyed. With the growing interest in sports among girls today, this program also exposes girls to the athletic role models they can most identify with: women athletes. It encourages dads to play an active role in creating real dreams for their daughters of all ages by taking them to see women athletes compete. BAWSI Dads and Daughters provides participants with organized activities and group seating at local sports competitions which highlight professional and college women athletes. Dads can subscribe to the BAWSI email newsletter to be alerted of upcoming events.

BAWSI Dads and Daughters launched during the Pac-10 women's basketball tournament at HP Pavilion on March 5 with a special reception before the game. At the reception, which included almost two hundred participants, San Jose City Councilmember David Cortese and his daughter Angela presented a commendation to Brent Jones and his daughters, Rachel and Courtney, in honor of Brent's role as spokesperson. Brent said, "It is an honor for me to be involved with the BAWSI Dads and Daughters program. There is nothing more rewarding than playing an integral part in helping to build your daughter's confidence and strong self esteem. The Dads and Daughters program, with their focus on role models in women's sports, has given my girls the opportunity to dream, play and achieve – all while sharing a passion with their Dad - sports!"
