BAWSI Dads and Daughters
Young girls need athletic role models to inspire them to take charge of their health and their lives. Dads can play a key role in taking their girls to see women athletes who look like them…women athletes.
BAWSI Dads and Daughters encourages fathers to play an active role in making their daughters sports dreams come true by creating opportunities for them to attend women's sports events together.
Former San Francisco 49er Brent Jones is spokesman for the BAWSI Dads and Daughters program that provides organized activities and group seating at local sports events featuring college and professional women athletes.
Why BAWSI Dads and Daughters?
The benefits of fathers and daughter spending time at the ballpark or in the stadium are so rewarding and the memories are so positive. "There is nothing more rewarding than playing an integral part in helping to build your daughter's confidence and strong self esteem," Brent Jones said. "The Dads and Daughters program, with the focus on role models in women's sports, has given my girls the opportunity to dream, play and achieve - all while sharing a passion with their Dad - sports!"
What do BAWSI Dads and Daughters do?
Go to games together. Eat hot dogs. Share jokes and stories. And they do it at women's sports events like college basketball and soccer games, golf tournaments - any place in the Bay Area where top women athletes compete. BAWSI's email newsletter and this website will keep you informed of what BAWSI Dads and Daughters will be doing next.
